 In this UNIVERSITY RECOMMENDATION category, Kagoshima University recommends to MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology) the international students newly coming from overseas as candidates of Japanese Government Scholarship Students. In principle, the applicants shall be from the sister universities or the universities which has academic exchange with Kagoshima University.

Application Guidelines for Japanese Government(MEXT) International Research Studnet Scholarship for 2017 (University Recommendation)
 
In this UNIVERSITY RECOMMENDATION category, universities recommend the international students newly coming from overseas to MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology) as candidates of Japanese Government Scholarship Students. In principle, the applicants shall be from the universities which Kagoshima University has academic exchange with.

1.Qualifications
① Applicant must meet all conditions indicated in the above guideline.
② Applicant must have resulted in a grade point average of 2.3 or more out 3 in the last two years.

iii Recommendation letter from the head of department of the home institution(addressed to the President of Kagoshima University)
 
iv Photograph (4.5 cm x 3.5 cm, taken within the past six months, upper body, full-faced, uncapped. Write the applicant's name and nationality on it's reverse side and paste it onto the application form. Digital photographs are also acceptable)
 
v Copy of family register or proof of citizenship of the applicant's country  
vi Academic transcript of each academic year of the last university(undergraduate school or graduate school) attended(issued by the university attended)  
vii Graduation certificate or degree certificate of the last university attended(or an attested document certifying that the applicant will graduate from the school, where applicable)  
viii Proof of the applicant's academic level, such as the academic ranking in his/her previous university(GPA, ABC grading, ranking of academic achievement, etc.)  
ix Abstracts of theses  
x Qualifications that prove the applicant's language skill(such as TOEFL, TOEIC, the Japanese as a Foreign Language test of EJU(Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students), and Japanese-Language Proficiency Test)and specific knowledge of his/her field.  
xi A copy of passport (description page giving name and photograph)  
A Health Certificate
