Formulation of the Long-Term Vision "Kagoshima University 2050"

[26.11.04]

Since its incorporation in 2004, Kagoshima University has formulated mid-term goals and plans every six years and has implemented a wide range of initiatives and reforms based on them. In addition, all faculties and graduate schools reviewed and clarified their missions by 2014, and in 2018 the university established "Kagoshima University 2030," a long-term reform plan setting out its vision for the future.

As the Fourth Mid-Term Goal Period approaches its conclusion in fiscal year 2027, the university has formulated "Kagoshima University 2050"--a long-term vision looking toward 2050--to serve as a guiding framework for the Fifth and Sixth Mid-Term Goal Periods.

This vision reexamines the present from the perspective of 2050 and articulates the role and direction that the university should pursue toward the year 2100. By sharing this vision and its guiding principles across the university and steadily translating them into concrete actions, Kagoshima University will strengthen its foundations as a sustainable institution that can continue to adapt flexibly to societal change.
