Kagoshima University International Alumni Network（KUIAN）

To deepen collaboration with international students, former faculty and staff members, and Kagoshima University Network Ambassadors who graduated from or completed programs at Kagoshima University or our institution (hereinafter collectively referred to as "former international students and others"), and to strengthen the network among them, we operate the "Kagoshima University International Alumni Network" (commonly known as KUIAN).

Those registered with KUIAN will receive information about events such as Homecoming Day, as well as the latest updates from our institution. If you have not yet registered, we encourage you to do so using the dedicated registration form below.logo26101605.png

Homecoming Day

To maintain and strengthen our ongoing connections with former international students and others, we hold International Student Homecoming Days both in Japan and abroad. Former classmates who once studied together in Kagoshima gather again to share memories of their time in Kagoshima. These occasions not only deepen friendships but also provide opportunities to renew the strong ties between Kagoshima University and our former international students and others.

Information regarding upcoming events will be announced on this page. We sincerely look forward to the participation of all former international students and others.

Country-Specific Overseas Alumni Associations

Kagoshima University has the International Alumni Associations for international students who graduated from or completed their studies at the University. Based on applications from former international students and others, the President approves the establishment of the "Kagoshima University Country-Specific Overseas Alumni Association" (hereinafter referred to as "Country-Specific Alumni Associations") for each country of origin. Currently, three Country-Specific Overseas Alumni Associations are active. Reports on the activities of each association will be posted on this website as they become available.

Those wishing to establish a Country-Specific Overseas Alumni Association or contact one of the existing associations are kindly requested to contact the office listed below.

    Activity Reports of Each Alumni Association

    /Indonesia International Alumni Meeting

    On January 8, 2026, Indonesia Alumni Meeting was held at the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) in Jakarta, Indonesia.

    Many alumni gathered from across Indonesia, including Dr. Arif Satria, Head of BRIN (former President of IPB University and a graduate of the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences, Kagoshima University), and Prof.Luky Adrianto, President of the Indonesia International Alumni (Chairperson of the Marine and Fisheries Research Institute at IPB University and a graduate of the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences, Kagoshima University).

    From Kagoshima University, Vice President for International Affairs, Prof. Chihaya Koriyama, along with two staff members from the International Cooperation Division, attended the meeting and deepened mutual ties. With a total of approximately 70 participants, the meeting reached a scale comparable to an overseas version of Homecoming Day, clearly reflecting the high expectations placed on Kagoshima University.

    During the networking session, the Certificate of Establishment for the Country-Specific Overseas Alumni Association was first presented to President Luky Adrianto. This was followed by enthusiastic discussions on the future development of the Indonesia International Alumni and the strengthening of collaboration with Kagoshima University.

    The meeting concluded successfully, with     participants pledging to reunite at a future "Overseas Homecoming Day in Indonesia." (For more details on the Indonesia visit, please click here.(only Japanese version)
