For International Baccalaureate Students
About the International Baccalaureate Entrance Examination
In recent years, Japan has been facing challenges such as declining birth rates, decreases in the working-age population, progress in globalization and the demand for innovation.
Under the circumstances, it is urgently necessary to develop human resources who identify challenges proactively, who find solutions to problems for which there are no predetermined correct answers, who work with others productively, who have the ability to put ideas into action and who take the initiative in learning and thinking.
The International Baccalaureate is a useful program to help students develop their abilities in proactive learning and thinking, communication skills, accepting different cultures, logical thinking, and identifying and solving problems. Kagoshima University believes that individuals certified by the International Baccalaureate have these abilities and the qualities required of human resources the country must develop.
Based on the recognition, we have been conducting the International Baccalaureate Entrance Examination since 2016 academic year as part of our effort to foster human resources who bring in a new era.
