鹿児島大学における生成系AIの利用について

　人工知能（AI）技術の著しい進歩によって、デジタルの画像・動画、音声・音楽、文書及びプログラムコードなどのテキストを生成するAI（生成系AI）が開発され、利用できるようになっています。生成系AIは、適切に使用されれば有用なツールとなりえますが、多くの問題点やリスクも抱えています。
　本学としては、生成系AIの適切で効果的な活用を期待していますが、そのためにも下記の【一般的な注意事項】をしっかりと理解してください。また、学生の皆さんは、生成系AIの嘘や間違いを見抜く力を養うことが求められていますので、学術的知識・スキル及び社会的倫理規範の修得を重視してください。授業における生成系AIの取扱いついては、到達目標や評価基準、また、教員の授業方針によっても同じではありませんので、担当教員の指示に従ってください。
　AIに過度に依存せず、自分自身で考え、人と人とのコミュニケーションを良好に維持し、ときには周りの人々と相談しながら、AIと人との良好な関係を保つことを意識して、生成系AIと正しく向き合ってください。学生・教職員の皆さんが、良識と正しい倫理観に基づいて、生成系AIを道具として使いこなすことを期待します。

【一般的な注意事項】

  1. 生成系AIに入力した質問内容は、蓄積、学習され、他者が引き出すことが可能になります（情報の流出・漏洩）。一般のWebサービスを利用する際と同様に、個人情報などの機密情報、未公開の発明内容や研究成果、研究費などの申請内容など、公開してはいけない情報は、絶対に入力しないでください。
  2. 生成系AIの回答には、「真実のような嘘」（Hallucination）があることを自覚し、批判的思考を大切にすることが重要です。引用元、出典などをしっかりと確認したうえで、多面的な判断を心がけてください。
  3. 生成系AIの文章等は、剽窃や著作権侵害等の対象になる可能性があります。説明責任を果たせない生成系AIには、著作者資格はありません。著作者（作成者）は、生成系AIの利用も含めて、著作物に責任を負わねばなりません。

NOTICE ABOUT THE USE OF GENERATIVE AI AT KAGOSHIMA UNIVERSITY

　With the remarkable progress of artificial intelligence technology, generative AI (that which generates digital images, video, sound, music, documents and text such as programming code, etc.) is now easily available. Generative AI can be very helpful if used appropriately, but it also presents many problems and risks.
　Kagoshima University expects the appropriate and effective use of generative AI and in doing so asks you to follow the guidelines below. Students are also required to develop your ability to identify any false information that generative AI can produce therefore it is important that you prioritise the acquisition of academic knowledge and social ethical standards. How generative AI will be handled in class will vary depending on the learning objectives, evaluation criteria and teaching policies of each instructor, so it is important that you are aware of the rules for each class.
　Please be sure to maintain a healthy relationship with your use of generative AI. This includes not overly relying on it, thinking for yourself, fostering good communication with other people and seeking advice from those around you when necessary. Students and staff are expected to master the use of generative AI as a tool based on common sense and proper ethical principles.

Guidelines

  1. As with any online service, never input into generative AI any confidential information such as personal information, unpublished inventions and research results, applications for research funding, or any other information that should not be disclosed. Information entered into generative AI is stored and learnt and can be retrieved by others leading to potential information leaks.
  2. Be aware that generative AI answers may contain 'hallucinations' or output which is factually incorrect: here your critical thinking is of the utmost importance. Check all quotations, sources, etc. carefully, and make your judgements after you have considered all different perspectives.
  3. Anything generated by AI can potentially become subject of plagiarism or copyright infringement. Since AI systems cannot be held accountable, they cannot be regarded as the authors of generated text, etc. The actual authors (creators) bear responsibility for the text etc., including any use of generative AI in its creation.
