鹿児島大学大学院水産学研究科では、東南アジアの４大学と共に平成26年８月に設立した高等教育国際協力組織である「熱帯水産学国際連携プログラム」に基づき、8月24日から9月30日までの5週間、平成27年度水産学研究科サマーセッションを開講しています。サマーセッションの開講に先だって、8月22日（土）に開講式を水産学部で開催しました。開講式には東南アジアの構成校から来学した14名を含む総勢約50名が出席し、各校の学生の代表が挨拶と展望について述べました。
本プログラムは、鹿児島大学水産学研究科が主唱し、カセサート大学（タイ）、フィリピン大学（フィリピン）、サムラトランギ大学（インドネシア）、トレンガヌ大学（マレーシア）の各水産学系研究科（修士課程）が連携して一つのカリキュラムを形成し、プログラムに登録した学生が構成大学で自由に学修し単位を取得できるようにした制度で、２年間の準備・協議期間の後、昨年８月に最終合意に達し、本年度より学生の登録を開始したもので、多国の大学がカリキュラムを共有し国際共同教育を進める、アジアでは初めての取り組みです。
本プログラムの特色は、グローバル化する国内外の産業社会で活躍できる人材を育成することを目的とするとともに、互いに特色と強みのある科目を提供しあうことで、単一大学では不可能な魅力ある教育を提供する、アジアの水産系高等教育の拠点の形成を目指しています。カリキュラムの統一に加えて、教員資格や単位の認定に係る規則を共通化するとともに、構成校代表者による運営協議会を設け、質の高い教育を保証しています。
来学した学生は、サマーセッションで提供する６科目の実験・講義科目のうち４科目を選択して履修するとともに、各自の受入れ教員の研究室で専門分野の調査・実験手法に関する実習教育を受けます。練習船を利用した、海上実習も計画されています。サマーセッションの期間の授業等はすべて英語で行われます。なお、サマーセッションの期間を通じ、水産学研究科では各種の国際的教育活動が展開される予定です。

Opening Ceremony of the Graduate School of Fisheries Summer Session 2015
On 22th August, 2015, an opening ceremony of the Graduate School of Fisheries Summer Session 2015 was held at Faculty of Fisheries, Kagoshima University, Kagoshima. This summer session is held for master course students based on the “Postgraduate (Master) Programme on Tropical Fisheries with International Linkage (ILP)” which is an international alliance to share the curriculum formed with characteristic subjects offered by the member schools in Southeast Asian countries and Japan.
As for the opening, around 50 master course students including 14 students from three member schools, Sam Ratulangi University, Indonesia, University of the Philippines Visayas, Philippines, and Kasetsart University, Thailand attended. Dr. Tatsuro Matsuoka, dean of Faculty of Fisheries, expressed his welcome greeting and celebrated that the first activity of ILP has successfully started. Representatives of each school students also presented their greetings and future perspectives.
The idea of ILP was originally proposed by Dr. Tatsuro Matsuoka, and since the establishment of the program in August 2014, it has shared the curriculum under the common rule of ILP. The governing council of ILP comprises representatives of the member schools, and has guaranteed the qualification of education. Since 2015, registration of students has started; they are able to attend classes at any member schools as the classes of their own school. Indeed, the credit will be issued from their own school via ILP. This unique linkage program is definitely original, and is no other in Asia.
Students from the member schools are expected to attend four of six subjects of lecture and/or laboratory classes. Moreover, they will be having the practical training for the latest analytical method at the laboratory in each specialty under the supervision of host scientist. Onboard training by using the faculty training vessel is also expected. English will be spoken at all the scheduled classes, suggesting that there is no border of the difference in language. During the Summer Session, we will be having various activities for the acceleration of international cooperation in education. We believe that it will be a good influence for students.
